The same or different?

Whoop, whoop the post has arrived.

And what have you bought this time?
Well - it's a purple pocket Malden zip.
Right  - and haven't you got one like that already?
Yes but this one is similar but definitely different.
Hmm!

This one's a different colour for a start ...

… and it's made of leather, whereas the other one is not. They are the same size and I shall use them both as purses.

The zip pulls are the same shape and both are compact and of simple design.

However the back pockets are a different shape ...

and the inside pockets are different too. Both have elasticated pen loops and ...

both have identical inside purses.

Both are very roomy with lots of card slots and a coin zip compartment.

So they are similar but different at the same time. I love the Pennybridge as it's handy and I use it when I need to pop a purse into my bag. I shall use the Pennybridge for summer and the Malden for winter. There! I need two purses which are similar and different.

Right - I've justified my purchase now and I'll just sit this Malden on my knee and give it a stroke. Whoop, whoop!

Happy Planning

PS And the smell is just divine.

Filofax Pennybridge zipped pocket used as a wallet

I've finally found a use for my red Pennybridge which has been patiently sitting on a shelf just waiting to be useful. I'm going to use it as my purse/wallet instead of my raspberry mini Finsbury. My mini Finsbury has been a constant companion on my shopping expeditions holding all I needed for 'going out' but recently I've been hankering after a change and have decided to put the mini aside and see how a pocket size copes with the demands of being lugged about in the outside world. My mini Finsbury stood up really well and there's not a mark on it even after being shoved in bum bags, baskets and totes.
Pennybridge, you have a lot to live up to. Here's a tour.

The outside is smooth and colourful and I've embellished it with my bag bells and a shopping cart token.

I may put my bus pass in the outside pocket to keep it to hand.

Inside are some bus timetables and a place to put receipts. My pen of choice is a Pilot Frixion.

I've a list of bus times from places where I hop on and off.

The times of minutes past the hour are very handy when I'm setting out for a journey.

Following on I have some blank pages to jot down notes or lists. I don't keep a diary in here as anything I write will get transferred to my diary at home if need be. There's a page for emergency numbers and a list of my medication.

The back section houses my debit card and ...

the purse section is home to more cards - membership and business cards.

The Pennybridge has a real purse like section and there's plenty of room for change.

Having loads of card slots means I can put in 'loads' of cards. In the back section I have some Ikea measuring tapes in case I want to measure anything. I've also put a tissue in there.

Oh my it looks stuffed, doesn't it. Just a shake of the loose change will even out the coins and straighten it up.

I have only just set up this wallet and it still has to prove itself but it feels good in my hands, holds what I want and because it is zipped I feel my cards are a little more secure.

Happy Planning.

Crocheted mini Filofax purse

I did put down my mini Finsbury but it stayed by my side just like the cat. I started to transfer my cards to the new mini and as I wanted to use this Filofax as a purse I investigated the zipped pocket at the back. It would not be easy to use this for many coins so I looked up tutorials on making a purse insert myself. Most of the ones I looked at used material for the purse, however, I found the wool that I was using for my current crocheting project toned very nicely with the raspberry colour of the planner so why not crochet a purse.

I did, and here it is.

I crocheted a rectangle using Tunisian stitch which gives a very dense weave, folded it over and crocheted 2 sides together.

I hand sewed a zip into place and crocheted slip stitches along the base of the purse about 0.5cm away from the edge.

The purse can now be slotted on the rings of the Filofax without the rings showing inside the purse.

It's quite thick but I've managed to get in a full diary and some 'to do' pages and the wallet is still able to close.

I have a few more ideas yet.

Happy Planning.
